Author Becomes a Celebrity Overnight
We have NEVER seen an Author Become this Successful this quickly - A Truly Overwhelming Response
August 19, 2008 - - We are sending you this newsletter for three reasons. First, we want to show you how powerful a press release can be. Second, we want to show you how effective our service is at reaching both print and broadcast media. Third, we want to show you how an author used an unusual angle to attract media attention. This is an important lesson and a lot can be learned from this new author.
At the age of 93, Lorna Page not only wrote a good book, but more importantly, she had a killer instinct for publicity and had a very interesting and unique angle for her press release.
We have been trying to keep track of the newspaper articles and blog mentions about her, but it is tremendously overwhelming. We have never seen anything like this before for a first time author. She has been mentioned in almost 3,000 newspapers, blogs and web sites as well as TV and Radio interviews in about 20 different countries and in five different languages. All of these are from the last two weeks!
The best lessons learned from Lorna Page's success are; have an angle for your press release and be prepared for the media storm that will follow. Before writing any press release, you must ask yourself if there is anything new, unusual or controversial about what you are doing. If there isn't anything new, unusual or controversial, you should change the way you are doing things to make it newer, unusual or controversial. The next crucial lesson learned is; be prepared for interviews and a lot of media attention. The whole point of a press release is to get noticed! Be available to the media and have a clear idea of how you will answer questions and how to be an engaging interview. This is the free advertising you were hoping for! Make sure to use this time to your best advantage.
